Eye spy with my little eye

It’s almost the weekend! Why not get out and about with the kids or grandkids and play a game eye spy, build a den or even go puddle jumping if the weather forecast is bad!

We’re supporting this year’s National Eye Health Week (NEHW) which takes place from 19 to 25 September. The campaign promotes the importance of good eye health and the need for regular eye tests for all.

It’s almost the weekend! Why not get out and about with the kids or grandkids and play a game eye spy, build a den or even go puddle jumping if the weather forecast is bad!

Spending time outdoors during childhood has been shown to lower the risk of developing myopia (short-sightedness) and may also slow the progression of the condition.

Time outside is especially important for younger children as their eyes continue to develop until they reach around eight years of age – you should aim for at least a couple of hours each day.
