Telephone Befriending Service

Befriending Service

Everyone needs connection.

Our telephone-based befriending service is designed to reduce loneliness and isolation in the visually impaired community.

We match volunteer befrienders and with befriendees based on common values and interests for telephone calls at an agreed day and time.

The results of telephone befriending can be significant. Befriending often provides people with a new direction in life, opens doors to a range of activities and leads to increased self-esteem and self-confidence.

If you or someone you know have a visual impairment and would benefit from a weekly friendship call, simply click the button below to submit a referral.

“These conversations are a lifeline and frequently my
volunteer is the only person that I will speak to for several days.”
