fbpx Volunteers

Our volunteers are the beating
heart of what we do.

Put simply, we can’t exist
without them.

During the COVID pandemic we saw demand for our service increase by more
than 100% and we now need more volunteers to meet those demands.

What makes a good telephone befriender?

Someone who is interested in other people
Someone who is a good listener
Someone who is reliable

We are always in need of additional volunteers to join our wonderful telephone befrienders. If you are friendly, reliable and can spare 1 hour a week for a phone call with someone in the sight loss community, please get in touch. Our video explains a bit more about the role.

Volunteering for Sightline might be a great opportunity for you.
Here are just a few reasons why:

A great addition
to any CV

“I first applied to volunteer with Sightline in 2018 and have enjoyed many
phone calls along the way! I currently have 2 calls a week with 2 different service
users and have been calling both individuals for just over a year now.”

Without the help of our dedicated team of volunteers we couldn’t offer our unique
telephone befriending service. If you would like to take your first steps volunteering with us,
we’d love to hear from you.
