As a marketing professional I worked for over 25 years in the hospitality sector until I retired in 2017.
Prior to that I gained a wealth of experience in other organisations, including in a semi-professional football club, whilst bringing up my 2 children!
In 2019 I starting volunteering at Galloway’s, a sight loss charity also based in Howick House, where I continue to utilise my business skills and experience to support both Sightline and Galloways.
I was delighted to be invited by the Trustees to join the Sightline Board, it is a cause I can relate to as my late father suffered with sight problems (double vision and glaucoma) so I had first hand experience of the isolation and loneliness visual impairment can cause and how a telephone befriending service can help.

“I joined Sightline in 2019 straight out of University as I was passionate
about making a difference in my hometown community.”
Here at Sightline, our telephone befriendees are here to help ease isolation or loneliness. I have already been touched by so many of our volunteer stories, they are literally the lifeline to so many of our service users. I am proud to help raise the profile of our telephone befriending service.
